OMG! I can't believe I'm actually starting a blog! I've been lurking around, reading all sorts of knitting blogs, and decided that I just HAD to have one of my very own. I'm excited and scared at the same time - my daughter says I'm a dork - and I guess I am. I'm at once intimidated and inspired by the blogs I've read - to say that I feel unworthy is an understatement. I'm going to try to make this interesting, funny, maybe informative??
A bit about me - I'm 40-something, divorced, with a teenage daughter who has a wicked sense of humor. I also live with 3 cats and 3 dogs, so as you can imagine, life around my house is never dull. My cats and dogs all speak perfect english, and, unfortunately, they all (except the baby, Fritzi) seem to have picked up my sailor's mouth. I'm sure they will all make their views and ideas known at some point or another.
I knit - that should probably be first and foremost. I can also crochet, but knitting is my passion. I have more projects going than I probably know about, but currently am working on 3 (I think I see a pattern here).
Current projects:
A baby blanket for my nephew's first child, a boy to be born the middle of June. Blue & white diagonal stripes. It's knitted on the diagonal, and I've turned one corner. Variegated blue stripes alternating with white stripes.
Socks for my sister - a late Christmas present. I gave all my sister's family "gift certificates" for Christmas - allowing them to choose the item they wanted me to knit for them. I've finished my bil's gloves, and my neices' skater-boy cap. Currently working on the intrelac socks from Knitting magazine - maybe a couple of years back, I'll have to get the issue, and let you know.
Third project is leg warmers for me. Very simple, modified pattern, using the brightest colors I could find.
I still owe my nephews their Christmas presents, one wants me to knit him a monkey for his web site - I found the pattern, just haven't started it yet - and the other wants yet ANOTHER hat. So, I'll work on that, and get it done soon.
I guess that's it for now - I'm so excited to be starting this! It'll be fun and games for all!
